Work Placement

There is a mandatory 84 hours work placement over a minimum of 8 weeks in Year 3.

Leaving Cert Subjects:

Helpful subject is English.

Course summary

Theatre & Drama Studies is a practice-based course for those intending to pursue a career in theatre or dramatic arts. Individual acting skills, voice production, ensemble performance and related theatre design and technical audio visual studies equip the student to work in live theatre, broadcast media or community-based arts facilitation.

Graduates will have the ability to pursue careers in the performing arts, education, arts administration, community arts, film and television media.

Academic qualification equivalents

• Class 12 passed students from a recognized board including CBSE, CISCE or a state board
• All India Senior School Certificate or Higher Secondary Certificate/Standard 12 or Indian School Certificate (Year 12) as recognized qualifications

English language requirements (one of the below):

• IELTS 6.5 overall (6.0 for Business programmes)
• IELTS 5.5 in all four components (listening, reading, speaking and writing)
• PTE 60 (63 for integrated programmes)
• PTE 55 in all four components (listening, reading, speaking and writing)
