About Geosciences in University of Massachusetts Amherst
The Department of Geosciences at UMass Amherst is concerned with the research and study of geology, geography, and the earth sciences. With a focus on sustainability and environmental consideration, the department encourages students to examine the systems and forces which have shaped our planet from its earliest moment through the present day. Our faculty conduct research into climate change, arctic science, watershed quality and more. Students at the undergraduate and graduate levels have the opportunity to be involved in internationally recognized research on earth processes, global change, and human geography.
