The Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality and Resort Management (KWS) at The University of Memphis was created and named after the founder of Holiday Inns, Kemmons Wilson, Sr. KWS offers a balance of academics and experiential learning in the hospitality, resort, and tourism business stressing global awareness, diversity and sustainability.
Our program provides an education stemming from the roots of hospitality and is designed to prepare students for a 21st century career in one of the largest industries of the world. Field experience provides students with learning while working in a variety of settings, such as: InterContinental Hotel Group properties, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Hilton Hotels, Peabody Hotel Group, Caesars Entertainment, and a myriad of other hotels, restaurants, resorts, sport and tourism businesses. Career opportunities abound in this fastest growing of all fields, and KWS graduates will be prepared to assume their roles in the business.
