About Geoscience in Drexel University

Students at Drexel can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Geoscience, preparing them either for further studies or a career in one of many applied geology positions.

This program provides concentration flexibility to allow a student to pursue their passion while also providing foundational science, writing and math skills necessary to any career in geoscience. The curriculum also focuses on experiential education, with field experiences beginning during the first term of first-year courses. Courses typically include a laboratory section or a hands-on recitation section, plus several field trips to relevant geological sites in the region. This is paired with Drexel’s signature cooperative education program, ensuring that students have a professional advantage in applications to graduate school or entering the workforce.
