In studying Journalism, Media & Communications, you will engage you in useful learning in a broad professional context, which includes a critical understanding of the media industry, while acquiring technical and professional skills in journalism, communication, information design and management, and using them in the dynamic media market of Glasgow and beyond. 

Learning & teaching

English

You'll learn through lectures, seminars and workshops and take part in small group work, individual and group presentations, debates and writing exercises. Some classes also take place in computer labs and include analysis of texts using software tools.

We've recently introduced a new research task in which staff, undergraduates and postgraduates work together (Vertically Integrated Project).

Journalism, Media & Communication

Our learning and teaching aims to help you:

• develop knowledge and understanding of the professional practices, skills and social contexts of the journalism, creative writing and communication industries
• help you think and work critically and constructively
• become a confident and responsible graduate, equipped to develop your potential throughout your career

Academic qualification equivalents

• For entry to Strathclyde undergraduate programmes we'd look for 70-75% in all subjects taken at level XII and the same at level X. 

English language requirements (one of the below):

• IELTS   :    6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
• TOEFL :     73-79 overall, with the following minimum scores in each component: Listening: 17 Reading: 18 Speaking: 20                               Writing: 19
• PTE      :     54-57 overall, with a minimum of 51 in each component
