About Biomedical Science in University of Salford

Increased life expectancy will fuel increases in the incidence of age-related conditions such as heart disease, dementia, stroke, pulmonary disorders, and cancer. This MSc in Biomedical Science will allow you to explore key topics in these fields and engage in advanced research into the underlying causes of these diseases as well as understand current and novel diagnostics and current and novel treatments of the disorders.

A key focus of the degree programme is on personalised medicine, which represents a move away from a ‘one size fits all’ approach to the treatment and care of patients with a particular condition, to one which uses new approaches to better manage patients’ health and targets therapies to achieve the best outcomes in the management of a patient’s disease or predisposition to disease.
