About International Relations And History BA in University of Leicester

International relations are the product of historical change which means that in order to understand one, you must consider the other. With our International Relations and History BA you will explore the ways in which these two fascinating topics are linked.

You will be able to study the most vital issues affecting the modern world and understand their historical backgrounds - from the world's foremost powers (the United States, the EU, Russia and China) to smaller nations that are impacted by their behaviour.

You will be able to examine the workings and the health of the political system in Britain and other states. You will also explore some of the most important and interesting issues in national and international politics: Who holds power and why? Is there a crisis of political participation? What are the appropriate limits to individual liberty? Is globalisation a positive process?

Flexibility of modules in your second and third years, will allow you to delve deeper into the areas of history and international relations that fascinate you the most. Our lecturers have in-depth knowledge across diverse interests, so whichever areas you study, you will receive knowledgeable support and insightful guidance.

• Students who have successfully completed Standard XII examinations will be considered for entry onto our undergraduate degrees across the full disciplinary spectrum.

University of Leicester Application Process

University of Leicester welcomes applications from both EU and non-EU students. There might be additional requirements for international student admissions. Also, specific courses have their own requirements. The standard admission process has been described below.

How to Apply?

The steps to be followed while applying for admission to the University of Leicester are as follows:

Application Fees: 25 GBP for applying through UCAS; Postgraduate application is free for almost all courses. Some postgraduate courses require an application fee.

Application Deadline: UG applicants: UCAS application deadline – June 30; Medicine and Dentistry programs – October 15; PG applicants – Varies according to program

Entry Requirements: The entry requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants must be fulfilled before applying:

• Undergraduate:
  • Completed the standard XII by the ICSE/CBSE, or another recognized state exam board, with at least 75% overall or higher depending on the course.
  • Undergraduate applicants with incomplete entry requirements can apply for an International Foundation Program which provides academic support to help applicants progress to his/her chosen undergraduate degree at the University.
• Postgraduate: A Bachelor's degree with a First class classification and an average of at least 60/75% (depending on the chosen course).
