About Social Work, MA in University of Greenwich

Our master's in Social Work will help you to develop the skills and resilience to meet challenging roles. You will learn how to advise and support people at times of difficulty and deal with a wide range of problems. We offer a variety of inspiring and motivating learning activities led by academics, expert practitioners and service users. This involves the opportunity to learn with students from other health and social care disciplines.

By the end of the course, you will have developed your skills in line with Knowledge and Skills Statements for either adults or children and families social work. You will also have a vision towards the Assessed and Supported Year in Practice.

The MA Social Work at the University of Greenwich was approved in December 2020 in accordance with Social Work England Qualifying Education and Training Standards 2019.

In order for you to start one of our programmes, you will need to meet both the academic and English language requirements. Below is a list of our standard entry requirements for most programmes, however, please note that some programmes may have a different entry requirement or require further assessment, such as a portfolio of work or interview. Academic Entry Requirements

Postgraduate Degrees (Master's)

For entry to our Master's programmes, you will need to have met the following:

• Four year bachelor degree with a minimum of 55% in Final Year for UK 2:2 OR 65% for UK 2:1(50% for UK 2:2 OR 60% for UK 2.1 from top University:Pune, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Osmania, JNTU)
• 70% in English in Standard XII or English language requirements

You must show your English language skills to complete your course. Requirements vary by course and level, but the good news is, you don't have to wait to reach the required level before you apply.

Here's what you need:

• IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component

For some undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses, you need:

• IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component

For MPhil/PhD postgraduate research degrees, you need:

• IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in each component

For many of our extended degree programmes, you will need:

• IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
