The course prepares you to work as Graduate Sports Therapist, delivering a full set of competencies, allowing you to examine and assess injuries for diagnosis, rehabilitate individuals to full participation, as well as treatment or appropriate referral. The motivated teaching staff are well connected to the sports and research industry, with experience of working as professional clinicians within elite sports settings as well as private practice.
The degree is underpinned by sports science disciplines and will equip you with the skills to prevent, assess and rehabilitate sports injuries. You’ll combine theory, hands-on experience, critical reflection and professional judgement as you learn to excel in the latest techniques in Sports Therapy.
You’ll develop advanced skills in scientific research methods throughout your studies, undertaking a research project in your final year in an area that interests you. You’ll learn in fully equipped sports science, physiology and biomechanics labs and suites – frequently used by professional teams and athletes – including an environmental chamber, ultrasound, 3D imagery, eye-tracking technology, haematology lab, and much more.
In addition to our labs and suites, we have our newly built Sports Arena on campus. This Sports Arena includes an international-standard sports hall with arena seating, international-standard 3G pitches, dedicated pitches for football and rugby, and a new cricket pavilion. This space is often used by our courses for teaching of practical content.
