We’re definitely proud of the work our students do. We’ve revamped our course, making it more practical, ensuring there are more opportunities for you to benefit from work placements and health projects in the community. You’ll leave with hard-earned skills that will impress employers. You’ll be able to make a difference.

“We’ve just revalidated our course and now the focus is much more on doing things,” explains Course Leader Paul Watts. “So we've trimmed down modules which previously had a lot of theory and it’s now a much more practical course.”

We’ll start in your first year by giving you a thorough understanding of health and healthcare in the UK. You’ll study epidemiology, the cornerstone of public health. It’s the science that studies the patterns, causes and effects of health and disease conditions in populations.

In your second year, you’ll take a practical module where you’ll use our computer labs to access and analyse health data before presenting an epidemiological report on it. That skill of interpreting data is in short supply in the UK and is in hot demand.

You’ll choose your own final-year project. It could be anything from the evaluation of a public health programme to a focus-group study analysing an important local health issue.

Advanced entry
If you have one of the following, you may be considered for entry with Advanced Standing

• HSC (year 12) / Intermediate Exam for Class XII 
  60% or above 
• A 3 or 4 year technical diploma with grades of 55% or above
• 2 years of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject
• An Edexcel HND

Undergraduate standard requirements

The English language entry requirement for undergraduate (Bachelor's) course is a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or 6, or equivalent, depending on the course and year or level of entry. The specific requirements for your chosen course, including individual component scores, will be outlined as one of the academic conditions if you are made an offer.

Undergraduate degree courses
To study for an undergraduate degree, you are normally required to have completed the SSC (Year 10) with good grades and HSC (Year 12) with 60% or above.
