About BA Translation, Media And Modern Language (3 Year Option With A Semester Abroad) in University of East Anglia UEA

Break down barriers of language and culture with a combination of advanced language studies and training in translation and media.

This distinctive and flexible course reflects the global need for skilled language and media professionals. You’ll study your chosen language (either French or Spanish) to degree level, as well as choosing from a range of specialist modules in culture, society, translation and media. You’ll explore the theory and technique of translating, and questions of style and register in a range of specialised areas, media and genres.

You’ll have the chance to gain exposure to how professional translators work through a translation work experience module. During your semester abroad you’ll deepen your experience of the language and culture by studying at a local university.

​​​Academic qualification equivalents

• Students achieving 70% + in the Higher Secondary School Certificate- Standard 12 will be considered for entry to the First Year of three year Bachelor degrees. The requirement will vary depending on examination board and course applied for.

English language requirements (one of the below):

• IELTS :6.0 overall with minimum of 5.5 in each component
• TOEFL IBT:79  Reading:18,Writing:17,Listening:17,Speaking:20
