About Mph Public Health in University of Dundee

Our Master of Public Health course (MPH) focuses on the epidemiological, statistical, and behavioural techniques which are applicable to public health practice and research around the globe.

You will learn how to design and carry out public health research, gaining the skills to improve the health of communities on a local, national and global scale.  You will also have the opportunity to improve and enhance your generic and transferable skills. With the help of our team of dedicated teaching staff, this course can offer an ideal starting point for a career in public health practice, or for further study at PhD level.

The University of Dundee's MPH course prepares students for research and management careers in a wide variety of medical and health-related disciplines.

Previous students graduating with the MPH from Dundee have taken up management positions in public health practice, nursing, education, government, the World Health Organisation (WHO) and NGOs. Others have taken research positions within academic public health, general practice, veterinary medicine, dentistry, environmental health, and more.

In addition to providing a solid foundation upon which to build a career, the MPH is also an ideal springboard for further postgraduate study.

Academic qualification equivalents

• Bachelor’s degree with 55% or above considered from University of Delhi, University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, IITs and IIMs (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree)

  Bachelor’s degree with 60% or above required from other institutions (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree)

  A Bachelor’s degree with 50% or above may be considered comparable to a UK 2.2 degree.

English language requirements (one of the below):

• IELTS: The requirement for most undergraduate and postgraduate degrees is IELTS 6.5 overall with a 6.0 in writing and 6.0/5.5 minimum in the other three components.
• TOEFL (iBT): 88 overall, including at least 21 in Listening, 20 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, 23 in Writing.
• PTE: 62 overall, including at least 56 in all four skills
