About Forensic Science & Chemical Analysis (foundation Entry) in University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN)

Our Foundation Entry degree courses are designed for students who have the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to directly enter their chosen honours degree programme.

The Foundation Year provides guaranteed progression to a range of courses throughout the University. Once you’re on this course, there’s no need to make an additional application and you won’t have to attend an interview to progress to Year 1 of our Forensic Science and Chemical Analysis degree (entry requirements apply).

The Foundation Year will give you the essential knowledge and understanding of theoretical and practical science skills you’ll need to succeed at degree level. We’ll support and encourage you to develop your critical thinking and gain the skills and confidence you need to thrive at University.

This is one of the best paths into the accounting profession and combines a rigorous academic programme with technical training. Accounting and Finance at UCLan has accreditation from a number of prestigious professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). You’ll develop your intellectual capacity, analytical skills and have a strong knowledge and understanding of accounting, enabling you to work in audit, tax and accountancy businesses as well as in financial functions within other organisations.

• BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance will provide you with a valuable insight into the nature of the accounting process and its varied applications in business life. It includes subjects which are fundamental to an understanding of the financial position of an enterprise and equally importantly examines other disciplines which recognise that business success cannot simply be measured in financial terms.
• The course recognises the challenges and limitations encountered by placing excessive reliance upon financial information as the major source of information for business and personal decisions. The subjectivity and flexibility which underlies much financial and management information is examined and their consequences explored.
• You will also have the option to study your second year at our Cyprus campus.
• Take advantage of the optional 48-week paid placement within industry in Year 3. Providing a great opportunity to experience the real work and put theory into practice in a professional business environment.
• Added value is included within the course in the form of practical Sage and SAP workshops.
