However, once shipping containers provided a common standard for transporting goods by road, rail and sea, trade was changed forever. Coupled with advances in information systems and communications, modern commerce can now be managed with unprecedented levels of efficiency and competitiveness.

Our Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) degree aims to educate multi-talented supply chain professionals and executives who can take a ‘big picture’ view of commerce, and the role their organisation plays within a collaborative network. We’ll explain how international trade offers opportunities to achieve competitive advantage through effective communication, management and material flow within supply chain operations. You’ll explore how goods and services can be marketed on the basis of quality, service level, lead time and sustainability credentials – not just low cost.

Any subjects are acceptable at Level 3. You should also have five GCSEs at grade C or above or grade 4 to 9 (or equivalent) including English, Mathematics and a Science.

If English isn’t your first language you’ll also need IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band (or equivalent).
