About Nursing Associate, Fdsc (higher Apprenticeship) in University Centre Weston

Registered Nursing Associates are a vital part of the multi-disciplinary team providing care to patients and their families in all areas of nursing.

Trainee Nursing Associates combine their studies at UCW with work-based learning in areas including clinical practice, clinical observations and supporting patients and their loved ones. A TNA will also spend 8 weeks per year on external placement in order to experience care in all areas of nursing including mental health, learning disability, paediatrics and adult as well as in both acute and community settings.

The classroom-based elements of the course cover key knowledge and skills in areas including safety and quality, anatomy and physiology, communication, medicines management, integrated care, clinical practice, teamwork and promoting good health.
