From the aerospace and automotive sectors to telecommunications and power generation, engineers who are skilled in electrical and electronic engineering are in considerable demand across industry.
Our Electrical and Electronic Engineering degrees offers flexible pathways to tailor your studies.
If you are unsure which area suits you, the combined Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree lets you explore both disciplines (Note: Accreditation is currently being sought for the combined pathway).
This course is ideal for a career in a range of areas including renewable energy, telecommunications, transport networks, construction and more.
On successful completion of study, we will issue the following award: BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering
In Year 1, your learning will closely mirror our other engineering degrees (Aeronautical, Mechatronics etc.) to ensure you have a solid grounding in engineering principles.
In Year 2 you’ll specialise in areas such as advanced electrical and electronic simulation and control. BEng (Hons) students can also take an optional industrial placement. This is a great chance to develop your employability skills and get you ready for potential graduate roles. Our close links with many high profile companies mean that we can help secure placements.
In Year 3 you will complete a substantial engineering project. You will also get the chance to present your work to industry and the public at the annual GradEX event.
