This course will equip you with the advanced knowledge and skills you need for a career in global journalism. You'll gain sought-after expertise in print, broadcast, magazine and online reporting, and also focus on photography and visualisation. While doing so, you'll consider the contemporary issues that are faced by the global media.
Work placements
This course is focused on the professional sphere, and modules are designed to give you relevant, real-world experience for your future career.
The course is delivered by a team of journalists with extensive newsroom experience and a strong commitment to practical journalism teaching. Our teaching team include journalists with both recent and current experience working for BBC News, BBC Radio 4, ITV regional news, Radio 5 Live, Yorkshire Post and Sheffield Star.
Our industry links enhance our ability to link you with excellent real-world opportunities. Work experience will take place at a relevant news or PR organisation, and will form the basis of your final module. This can take place in the UK or elsewhere — if you are an international student, you may be able to work in home country. The experience will help you to build up a portfolio of work to demonstrate your ability to potential employers, and to understand the day-to-day cycle of news and media.
