This exciting new degree course has been created in response to the global success of the UK film and television industry.

On this practical course, you'll explore all aspects of filmmaking to set yourself up for a successful career as a producer, director or writer.

Our expert staff will stretch you to develop your deep creative understanding of the art of filmmaking, focusing on the production of original, entertaining and innovative content through the production of dramas, documentaries, adverts, music videos and experimental work.

Work on real-life briefs with our industry partners, learning the technical and production skills required to produce a professional portfolio tailored to your career goals.

• Innovative filmmaking– this course has been developed with input from industry and academic staff with a wealth of experience.
• Focus on writing, directing and producing. We want to create filmmakers who can develop their own projects.
• Learn in a creative studio environment, using industry-standard facilities such as high-end camera equipment and software such as Davinci Resolve and Adobe Creative suite.
• Develop your professional skills through self-initiated work experience placements, industry competitions, external collaborations and guest lectures.
• Use industry-standard equipment such as high-end cameras, sound recording booths, along with industry-recognised software.
• Learn from staff with expertise in areas such as directing, producing and scriptwriting, plus technical skills such as editing, lighting, sound and camera operating.
• Choose to go on an international study trips to recognised film cities.
• Opportunity to apply for a European or international exchange to one of our partner institutions, such as Northern Arizona University in the USA.
• Showcase your work at the NTU Degree Show, with the opportunity to be selected to exhibit at other industry graduate events.

Higher Secondary Certificate (XIIth)

Grade average of 65% made from four relevant subjects (native language excluded)

English language requirements

IELTS : 6.5

• With a minimum of 5.5 in each component

PTE : 62

• With no less than 51 in any component

The cost of attendance is governed by factors like the tuition fee and the cost of living.

Nottingham Trent University Admission Procedure 

• Application: The UG applications are accepted through ‘Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS)’ and PG applications through the ‘NTU applicant portal’.
• Application fee: One needs to pay £13 for 1 UG course and £24 for multiple UG courses.
• Application deadlines: For UG students the last date to apply is June 30, 2019. The PG programs don’t have any official deadline, however, it is better to apply one month prior to course start date.
• General requirements: Completed application form, academic transcripts, and English proficiency tests.
• Additional requirements: Birth certificate, passport copy, LOR.

English Proficiency Test: Majority of the courses require IELTS score ranging between 6.0 and 6.0 for entry. However, other equivalent English test scores are also acceptable.
