Overview
Our MSc Medical Microbiology is designed to enable you to develop an advanced theoretical understanding, together with the practical techniques you’ll need to apply those theories in a research or clinical context.
You’ll start with a well-rounded understanding of the discipline, learning about analytical approaches and human disorders. Then you’ll take an in-depth look at human infectious diseases, developing the skills to understand, control and manage those diseases. From there, you'll tackle a research project on a topic of your choice - exploring the issues that fascinate you, while developing an understanding of both the process and the communication of scientific enquiry. Along the way, you'll have the support of an expert team and access to specialist, laboratory facilities. You'll also benefit from our extensive links with hospitals across Greater Manchester, offering the chance to do your research in clinically relevant areas
So, by the time you graduate, you should be equipped with the analytical techniques and diagnostic approaches required for practice at specialist level. In short, this course can open doors for your future and equip you for a career full of impact
