Course Details
Projects by their very nature involve strategic thinking and planning. This course will equip you with the skills to critically analyse and prepare effective strategies that have the potential to add significant value to an organisation, helping them achieve their strategic aims through a programme management approach.
This research-led course is aimed at those experienced in managing projects, as well as strategy implementers, strategy makers and those who wish to enhance the success of the projects they are involved in. You will focus on the latest issues in strategic project management, discovering better ways to manage projects by studying the challenges faced by project support offices and programmes today.
You will also develop the skills vital to successful project management, including decision making, managing and motivating others, negotiation, innovation, contract management, procurement and supply chain management.
Accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM), our close links with the APM and other project management-related organisations will feed into your learning.
Course Benefits
Extensive links with industry have been created through the course's activities. The course runs popular conferences led by students work, and an international project management conference in association with Wuerzburg Fachhochschule University and the Association for Project Management's 'Inspire' project.
The Centre for Project Management has a UK wide presence, attracting students of project management from across the country. You will have the opportunity to publish papers in local and international conferences hosted by masters students. A research-led approach means that in addition to research developed by staff and students on the course, each individual will have many opportunities to investigate areas of particular interest and relevance.
If you feel that full-time study may be difficult given your other commitments, we offer two options to study part-time that continue to prove extremely popular with professionals from up and down the country. You can study 12 Sundays a year for two years as part of our full day workshops or, alternatively, you can study on weekday evenings on a more regular basis.
