About Sports Studies (top-up) | Bsc (hons) in Leeds Beckett University

Course Details

Designed for those with a foundation degree or high-level HND in a related subject, this course covers a wide range of areas within sport.

Depending on your previous experience and learning, you will be able to tailor your degree to your career ambitions - whether they lie in coaching, physical education, sport development, sport business, sport marketing, physical activity and health or aspects of sports science, this is an opportunity to refine your expertise and top-up your qualification to a degree with just one year of additional study. Your career success will be central to this course and we will give you the skills to enhance your employability.

You will meet with your course leader and personal tutor during induction week in order to pick your specific area of study.

You will be able to choose one of the following eight areas:
1. Sports Coaching
2. Physical Education
3. Physical Education with Outdoor Education
4. Physical Activity & Health
5. Sport Development
6. Sport Business
7. Sports Marketing
8. Sports Science

You can also can boost your CV by gaining nationally recognised sporting qualifications such as UK Coaching Certificates and gym and personal trainer, which are both available at the University.

SPORT VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

We offer a sport volunteering opportunities for anyone with an interest in sport. If you want to stay ahead of the game and have a competitive advantage in the job market then sport volunteering is an ideal way to gain extra knowledge and skills on top of your degree. Volunteering is a huge advantage if you want to pursue a career in the sports industry - and it will look great on your CV.

Academic qualification equivalents

Standard 12th qualifications (CBSE/ICSE or State Boards of equivalent)

Grade: Minimum aggregate of 60% and above

English language requirements (one of the below):

• IELTS 6.0 with no skill below 5.5
• All India Senior School Certificate (CBSE) – English Grade 70% 
• Indian School Certificate (Class-XII) (CISCE) – English Grade 70%
