This Master’s degree aims to prepare you for managerial roles across the emerging global borderless economy with a comprehensive understanding of international business challenges, together with the skills and expertise required to negotiate them successfully.
Focusing on the practical process of doing business globally, you will have opportunities to interact with businesses through the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce network. Course information
Combining theory and practice, this course aims to provide a thorough grounding in international business management in an ever-changing global economy. It should equip you with the skills and knowledge to become a flexible, effective manager who can spot market opportunities and drive forward businesses to success in the international arena.
We’ll cover the basic principles of marketing – where students will have the opportunity to discuss and analyse key managerial decisions on formulating and executing international marketing activities by developing their knowledge and skills of marketing concepts including environmental analysis, buying behaviour, strategic market segmentation and more. This will be done through active case studies and practical examples.
Through the use of guest speakers, use of real case studies and industry visits and fieldtrips, you’ll learn more about the external forces, which affect business decisions, including but not limited to the influence some external/or market factors such as fall or rise of oil prices or interest rates. We’ll discuss some of the biggest challenges and issues businesses now face, such as market uncertainties.

The course will enable you to become a specialist in international business, equipped for a wide range of business and management careers in multinational organisations, management consultancies, government organisations or management education and training.

The MSc in International Business Management provides the opportunity to develop a strategic outlook in a global context and to hone business skills developed in one’s earlier academic studies. All of this has the major objective of facilitating a successful career in management, in either the public or private sector. With the network opportunities to industry, an international content taught by experienced international research oriented lecturers with vast industry experiences, access to membership of professional bodies such as CIM UK to mention but a few, the course has been uniquely designed and run to fully equip our students with the right set of international business skills, knowledge and experience.

To be accepted for the programme students must possess as a minimum either:
A second class honours undergraduate degree from any discipline. Applications from candidates who can demonstrate considerable experience at an appropriate professional level but who do not have formal academic entry qualifications may also be admitted on an individual basis.
English as a Foreign Language: This course requires IELTS of 6.5 overall, with no component lower than 5.5. Pre-sessional English is available if required.
