An Information Technology MSc can fill in the gaps in your knowledge of database management, software engineering and project management.

This professionally accredited course aims to deepen your insight into IT by developing your creative, critical, technical and managerial skills through independent and collaborative research-based or real-life projects, taking advantage of our connections with companies including IBM. You should be able to enhance your technical knowledge in areas such as bespoke software or web development, database management and e-commerce, exploring current issues, like cybersecurity or smart technologies. Course information
The course is focused on bridging the gap between computer science and non-computing graduates who have worked in the IT sector.
It aims to provide a deliberate blend of foundations in business, IT project management and the core principles in computing disciplines such as database management, enterprise systems and software engineering.
We use our professional links with local, national and multinational companies, to stay in tune with the global developments in the industry. For example, the IT Manager of M&S worldwide was instrumental in us updating our project management training to incorporate agile software development, which acknowledges that requirements and solutions often evolve during projects.
We aim to equip you with the specialist skills and knowledge that will enable you to adopt a professional approach to the planning, design and management of complex networked and distributed computer systems. We aim to develop your analytical and communication skills, encouraging you to find and present solutions both individually and working as a group to address existing and emerging issues in the industry, this could include anything from developing databases to writing IT Strategies.

The course is designed to help prepare you for careers in the management of IT systems within a business.
We have an outstanding record for graduate employability – 92% of our graduates were in work or further study after six months, with 90% of those employed in professional-level jobs (DLHE 2014/15).
