About Advancing Physiotherapy Practice Msc in Coventry University

This clinically focused course is offered to qualified physiotherapists who wish to develop their practice to a higher level. It provides students with the opportunity to develop their assessment, clinical reasoning and treatment skills in the three core areas of practice: cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy.

It also aims to improve students’ employability by enhancing clinical, management and leadership skills, so that successful graduates can influence practice and service delivery, working in line with government initiatives.

Course information

We have a range of taught postgraduate awards to suit your needs, from Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma to a full Master's Degree (MA, MBA, MSc, LLM). In most cases you can decide to exit at Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma level, without carrying onto the full Master's qualification.

This course will equip you with advanced physiotherapy skills to develop your clinical practice and service delivery. It will enhance your employability and potential to move into higher positions in physiotherapy.

As well as providing opportunities to develop advanced clinical physiotherapy skills, the course well enhance students’ understanding of research and evidence based practice.  In addition, students will develop their communication and leadership skills to a higher level. All of these skills will allow graduates to move into higher positions within the field of physiotherapy and wider health and social care, research or education.  

To prepare students for the challenges of the global employment market and to strengthen and develop their broader personal and professional skills Coventry University has developed a unique Global Leaders Programme.

The objectives of the programme, in which postgraduate and eligible undergraduate students can participate, is to provide practical career workshops and enable participants to experience different business cultures.

Where our graduates work

Previous graduates have gained advanced clinical physiotherapy positions in the UK and in places as far afield as India, Thailand, Canada and the USA. Some graduates have progressed into teaching or research positions; others have enrolled in doctoral studies.

pplicants will normally hold a UK equivalent of 2:1 degree in Physiotherapy. Applicant with 2:2 degree equivalent and relevant work experience will be considered on a case by case basis.

English as a Foreign Language: This course requires IELTS of 6.5 overall, with no component lower than 5.5. Pre-sessional English is available if required.
