About Bsc (hons) Paramedic Science in Bournemouth University

With the equal split of theory and practical elements, this course will prepare you to fulfil the role of a modern-day paramedic, ready for an ever-changing and evolving workforce.

• Practice in state-of-the-art facilities at our brand-new Bournemouth Gateway Building, including a newly built ambulance simulation suite, hospital wards and community home settings.
• There are opportunities to undertake training and exercises at external locations across the region
• As well as providing emergency care for critically ill patients, you will develop advanced assessment and decision-making skills so you can decide the appropriate referral method for less seriously unwell patients. 

Entry requirements

• High School leaving examinations - We will consider any High School leaving examinations that are considered to be the equivalent to A-level examinations in the UK.

English language requirements

• IELTS: 6.0 overall, with no less than 5.5 in each component.
• TOEFL iBT: 60-78 overall.
• PTE Academic: 54 (with no less than 51 in each component).
