About Conservation With Forestry Bsc (hons) in Bangor University

This course is accredited by the Institute of Chartered Foresters and gives partial fulfilment of Professional Membership Entry.

Forests are the most biodiverse of all terrestrial ecosystems and contain the vast majority of the world’s terrestrial species. This degree provides an understanding of this biodiversity, the ways in which it is influenced by people, and the role that forests can play in reducing the impacts of human activities, including climate change. The degree focuses on the principles of biological conservation, forest ecology and forest ecosystem function, the practice of conservation, and the ways in which forests can be managed to meet conservation objectives. There are opportunities to study abroad in the second year and to spend up to 12 months working for a conservation or forestry organisation.

This course will equip you for a broad range of careers, including woodland conservation, woodland management and forest certification in both the public and private sectors. There is a constant demand for good graduates in forestry-related subjects, and every year we help our graduates to find a whole range of roles acreoss the UK and beyond.

Academic qualification equivalents

• Minimum of 65% in Standard XII school certificate from recognised central or state boards, some courses may require 75% in that subject area, OR Completion of the Polytechnic / College of Technology Diploma (minimum 3 years in duration)

English language requirements (one of the below):

• IELTS: Academic 6.0 or 6.5 This must include a minimum of 5.5 in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.
• PTE: 56 (51) - 62(58).
