Careers

There are exciting career opportunities across a range of banking and finance disciplines, in both the private and public sectors.

You may find yourself working in a global corporation, a small to medium enterprise (SME) or even for yourself – and it’s not unusual for company CEOs to come from a finance background.

You may wish to move into a role in the financial markets, in areas such as FX management, derivative markets or equity fund management. Or you could opt to gain experience in the banking sector in areas such as credit risk management, or mergers and acquisitions.

You might choose to enhance your education and career prospects further still by taking a postgraduate degree, such as our MSc Accounting and Finance.

We work with employers to make sure you graduate with the knowledge, skills and abilities they need. They help us review what we teach and how we teach it – and they offer hands-on, practical opportunities to learn through work-based projects, internships or placements.

We have strong, established, links with a number of professional bodies across the banking and finance sectors, and you’ll come into regular contact with guest speakers from industry, commerce and the City.

Through our Business School Intern programme, around 35 students each year get a business mentor, work experience, exclusive training and development, and a reference from our Dean.

Academic qualification equivalents

• HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 50% from the West Bengal exam board
• HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 55% from the following exam boards: CBSE, Delhi, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu
• HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 60% with at least 40% in a minimum of 5 subjects from any other exam board
• a recognised foundation qualification

English language requirements

If English is not your first language you'll need to be able to show you have the required level of English language. This is so we can ensure you'll be able to follow your course.

• Our standard entry criteria for undergraduate courses is IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing).
• ETS TOEFL iBT with 80 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking
• Pearson PTE with 57 overall and a minimum of 51 in all components.
