What is Manufacturing Engineering?

Manufacturing Engineering involves the use of computer systems to design products, plan production, control operations and perform the various business-related functions needed in a manufacturing firm and their incorporation into an integrated computer system.

What is the BSc (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering course?

The BSc (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering is a one year follow-on course for graduates of the BEng in Manufacturing Engineering. The course prepares students to work with the latest computer-based technologies associated with modern manufacturing practice. 

Field Trips

Industrial visits and field trips form part of this course.  Presentations from past graduates and industrial visitors are a regular feature.

Projects

Projects form a very enjoyable part of the course where students have the freedom to genuinely express themselves. Many of the projects undertaken have developed into postgraduate research projects and a number of final-year students have presented their work in published papers at international conferences.

Graduates of the BSc (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering have found employment in the following areas:

• Equipment commissioning

• Manufacturing and engineering management

• Project control.

Follow on Study

Graduates achieving an honours degree on this course may apply for MSc or PhD degree courses in WIT or elsewhere.

Academic qualification equivalents

• Completion of All India or State Board HSC (XII): 60% or higher in relevant subjects.

English language requirements (one of the below):

Engineering, Health Sciences & Science

• IELTS: 5.5 IELTS(minimum of 5 IELTS in each component)
• TOEFL: iBT 70 (min score of 15 in each  component) CBT 196 (min score of 15 in each component)
• PTE: 51 (minimum 46 in each component)

Business, Education & Humanities

• IELTS: 6.0 IELTS (minimum of 5 IELTS in each component)
• TOEFL: iBT 80 (min score of 15 in each component) CBT 213 (min score of 15 in each component)
• PTE: 55 (minimum 46 in each component)

Note: The international tuition fee will be refunded in full, in case the students don’t get their visa but the students need to show documentary evidence of the refusal to the international office.

These apartments are based on the Main Campus and give easy access to all WIT services and facilities to the students. The students need to deposit Euro 300 for booking room which is refundable towards the end of the license period.
