The BBS in Business Management is the School of Business’ flagship undergraduate degree programme, offering comprehensive coverage of all major elements of business and our widest range of optional modules.

• Business and Management are action orientated. They are about coordinating the functions of a business to deliver value to the client and capture sufficient returns for staff and owners. We will teach you how to make a difference to the lives of customers, providing goods and services they need across a wide range of industries and countries.

1st year

The fundamentals of Business including Management, Marketing, Innovation, Competitions, Professional Skills and Business Ethics amongst other business modules.

2nd year

• The emphasis changes to understanding the core functions of business and how to use the structures of organisations to achieve outcomes for clients. Students take a combination of core and optional modules
• Optional 10 credit Electives
• Some students may choose to complete a work placement or study abroad year between 2nd and 3rd year and graduate after the 4th year

Final year

We examine how functions and theories tie together at the strategic level, as well as enabling you to choose advanced optional modules to deepen your understanding of business in general, or a specific functional area.

Course Duration: 3 years (BBS) or 4 years (BBA)

Career Options

A recent survey of all Irish university graduates found that, amongst the 10 major fields of university study, Business had one of the highest rates of graduate employment (HEA 2017).

• Typically, Management graduates enter employment as general management graduate trainees in service or manufacturing organisations; work as functional specialists in areas such as marketing, sales, operations, management information systems, or human resource management; or continue their education with a specialist postgraduate degree. Careers in consulting, public service and not-for-profit organisations are also common.
• The School of Business also offers a range of postgraduate programmes for Management graduates.

Academic qualification equivalents

• Minimum 75% in the Higher Secondary School Certificate- Standard 12 awarded through the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or the India Council for School Examinations (ICSE), or any equivalent Standard 12 All India Secondary School Certificate

English language requirements (one of the below):

• IELTS      :    6.5 over all components and a minimum of 6.00 in each band.
• TOEFL    :    92
• PTE         :    59
