What is the programme about?

This programme will provide you with a thorough knowledge of theory and methods used in all Accounting & Finance sectors, preparing you for further professional accountancy qualifications. You will learn accountancy themes supported by the study of foundation subjects, including: Economics, Management, Marketing, Law, and Information Technology. As a graduate of this two-year programme, you will have the skills to work at an accounting technician level in the business field.

When you graduate with the Higher Certificate in Business in Accounting & Finance you will have acquired a solid foundation in the basics of the finance function. On successful completion of this programme you will qualify for entry onto the Ordinary Degree -1 year add-on programme in Accounting and Finance (Level 7 award) in LIT. Ultimately, if you are successful in the Level 7 programme (Ladder system) you may progress to the Honours Degree (1 year add-on programme) Level 8 award in Accounting and Finance.
