The aim of this course is to provide candidates an opportunity to up-skill and/or reskill in the discipline of digital marketing with analytics. Given the growth and contemporary developments in digital marketing, it is an important opportunity for those with existing marketing qualifications and working in the sector to up-skill in digital marketing strategy, theory and practice. In addition, it provides an opportunity to those working in marketing from other discipline backgrounds to gain a qualification in marketing allowing them progress in their marketing career. Likewise, it will provide an opportunity to attract new skills to the marketing function, such as candidates with strong numerical skills and qualifications who wish to join the exciting and dynamic digital marketing sector. It will allow these candidates to add value by providing important data on trends and patterns that will enable better decisionmaking and digital strategies.
The lines are blurring between Marketing and IT. Digital insights and analytics are to the forefront of all Marketing strategy and integral to day-to-day Marketing operations. The course will be ideally positioned to develop digitally focused and adaptable Marketing graduates, who will flourish in the emerging data driven, IT focused marketing function.
What will I be able to do when I finish this programme?
On completion of this course, students should be able to:
Articulate theories, concepts & practices of digital era marketing and how it applies to their professional practice.
Demonstrate knowledge specific to digital marketing and data analysis and use this knowledge creatively in the delivery of digital marketing strategies.
Display mastery of specialised digital era marketing skills, tools and technologies and the research skills required for the creation and delivery of digital marketing strategies.
Exercise appropriate judgement in the research, design, development and implementation of digital marketing strategies to a professional standard, cognisant of emerging technologies and marketing practices.
Use digital marketing and data analysis knowledge and skills to create and defend customer centred marketing solutions in a broad range of variable and unfamiliar marketing contexts.
Act in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, and communicate and work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams and settings.
Display adaptability, creativity, ingenuity, and professionalism to working, learning and responding to a dynamic environment. Self-evaluate and reflect on learning and practice.
Develop and articulate a personal worldview of marketing practice, its role and impact in organisations and on society.
