Why take this course?

This 4 year degree develops Honours level graduates in food business and technology. The B.A. (Hons) Food Business and Technology is the only food business degree in the Midland’s region and has been designed in conjunction with large local employers.

Food manufacturing is a major employer in the Midlands region with a large number of companies in Offaly, Laois, Longford and Westmeath employing 100+ (e.g. Carroll’s of Tullamore, Panelto in Longford, Carty’s in Athlone, Glenisk in Tullamore). We have worked with many local employers to ensure this course offers all the skills needed for a successful career as a manager in a food manufacturing and processing operations in food business and technology.

Academic qualification equivalents

• Completion of All India or State Board HSC (XII): 60% or higher in relevant subjects. 

English language requirements (one of the below):

• IELTS: Minimum IELTS 5.5 with no Band less than 5.0.
• TOEFL:Minimum iBT 60 – 93. (Depending on programme)
• PTE:55 (minimum 51 in each component)
