Focus on health psychology

The focus on health psychology in the consecutive master's program in psychology (120 ECTS) ties in with the major in health psychology  to a bachelor's degree in psychology. The content builds heavily on the Bachelor of Health Psychology at the SRH University in Heidelberg.

Within psychology, health psychology makes a scientific and practical contribution to maintaining and maintaining health, preventing, treating and rehabilitating the sick. It researches and develops health-promoting measures and analyzes the causes of health problems and individual risk behaviors.

Contents, goals and course of study

The choice of the focus on health psychology enables employment in the field of the health sector such as prevention, counseling, health promotion and rehabilitation . It also enables students to independently conduct, evaluate and publish research projects in health psychology. With a focus on health psychology, master's students have good career prospects in management , health promotion , health insurance or in counties and municipalities . You work for the federal government or the federal states ,serve there model projects and are in hospitals and health centers hired. Health psychologists help with coping with disease by providing planning and implementation support. In rehabilitation , they conduct health training and patient training or develop health-promoting organizations in companies and administrations.
