Protect, conserve and preserve the environment with a career as an environmental technologist, working in government or industries such as transportation, water treatment or chemical manufacturers. Courses cover sampling, site reclamation, waste management and more.

Program Description

Want a career that really makes a difference? The Environmental Technology program will give you the skills and knowledge you need to work in the lab or the field. As an Environmental Technologist you’ll work in the protection, conservation, and preservation of our natural environment. Many graduates go on to complete their bachelor’s degree at Royal Roads University.

Your Career

Graduates of this program find work in environmental protection, conservation and preservation of natural resources, and environmental education, communication and research.  More specific fields include utility and mining companies, chemical manufacturers, steel makers, transportation, industry, federal/provincial government departments, municipalities, education institutions, wastewater management, water treatment, research and health care centers, environmental interest groups and industry associations.

Student Success

Students with higher grades and recent upgrading in Math 30 (Pure Math) and Chemistry 30 will experience more success in SAIT's programs.

Additionally, students who experience success in this program have good work ethics and communication skills.

Credentials and accreditation

After successfully completing this program, graduates will receive a SAIT diploma in Environmental Technology.

This program is accredited by ECO Canada. Graduates are eligible for membership in the following professional associations:

• Completion of All India or State Board HSC (XII): 60% or higher in relevant subjects.

• TOEFL :    Overall 80, (A minimum score of 20 in each category)
• PTE      :    A score of 53 in each section

English Proficiency Test Scores

All the programs at the university are taught in English medium and hence proving English language proficiency is mandatory.

SAIT Admission requirements and process

Admission at SAIT Polytechnic requires additional documents from international applicants. Application requirements for various programs are given below.

Selection CriteriaSAIT Polytechnic opens the admissions in the Fall Start and continues until the Spring start. Different programs have different time periods for their admission process.

• The application fee charged is 75.00 CAD once for each program enrolment.
• Percentage required in schools and the other major requirements are different for all courses:
  • A 65% record or a cumulative GPA of minimum 2.3 is required for the Bachelor’s of business administration.
  • Other courses require a minimum of 50%.
  • A common requirement in all the courses is the English proficiency.
  • Admission into the Institute is determined on the academic records.
  • Graduate employment rate in the institute is 94%
