In the Bachelor of Communication Studies program, you specialize in journalism or professional communication. Your degree prepares you for a strategic role in business, traditional and new media, not-for-profit and public sector organizations—wherever clear, correct and effective messages are valued.

Guided by faculty who are working in the interdisciplinary and evolving fields of journalism and professional communication, you learn how to deliver clear and compelling messages using a variety of media.

Program of Study

The Bachelor of Communication Studies (BCS) provides you with the core skills of effective communication, combined with career specialization in one of two majors: professional communication or journalism. The courses in the majors offer depth and rigour, supported by a liberal arts framework and electives that provide breadth, specialization and choice.
