About Electrical Techniques in Fanshawe College

If you're looking to begin a career in the dynamic and in-demand world of an electrician, Fanshawe's Electrical Techniques program will provide a solid and super-charged foundation of skills. If you want to achieve your network cabling specialist certification or kickstart your electrical apprenticeship training, this course is for you.

You'll begin the electrician program by familiarizing yourself with electrical fundamentals and theories. You'll learn from a variety of courses, such as the fire alarm technician course, with takeaways including how to troubleshoot digital electronics and network cabling, installation practices, and industry communication. After graduating from our electrician apprenticeship program

You'll graduate ready and able to work as an Industrial Electrician Apprentice, Construction and Maintenance Electrician Apprentice, Network Cabling Specialist, or Fire Alarm Technician. Career Opportunities

Upon completion students will be able to seek employment as apprentices in Electrical Construction and Maintenance, Industrial Electrician, Network Cabling or other related electrical trades.

Academic qualification equivalents

  • Class 12 passed students from a recognized board including CBSE, CISCE or a state board
  • All India Senior School Certificate or Higher Secondary Certificate/Standard 12 or Indian School Certificate (Year 12) as recognized qualifications
  • Final minimum average of 65.0% based on the highest six Grade 12 University (U) or University/College (M) courses

English language requirements (one of the below):

IELTS: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic test with an overall score of 5.5  - 7.0 with no score less than 5.0 - 6.5 in reading and listening and a score of 7.0 in writing and speaking, with test results within the last two years
Please note, some Whitireia degree level programmes require a higher level of English language competence. 

TOEFL iBT :Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test with a minimum score of 60 - 100for the Internet-based test (iBT), with test results within the last two years
