In the Diploma of Information Technology Networking students will gain the skills and knowledge needed to install and manage networks either as an independent ICT specialist or as part of a team. Students will learn how to install and administer Linux and Microsoft operating systems. There is emphasis on virtualisation and network security. Students will explore new technologies related to the cloud and Internet of Things. They may also have the opportunity to undertake the Cisco Certified Network Associate program.

Aims and objectives
To provide students with the skills and knowledge in the installation and management of networks, and enable an individual to be effective in network management, either as an independent ICT specialist or as part of a team. The aim is also to enable students to gain the skills to continue to higher education courses.
Students are generally required to complete the Certificate IV in Information Technology Networking prior to commencement of the Diploma of Information Technology Networking
