About Diploma Of Laws (ylaw01) in Charles Darwin University

The Diploma of Laws offers you a general understanding of the law, legal processes and legal principles, as well as an opportunity to gain the specialist knowledge you may need for work or other reasons. This program is also suitable for internationally qualified lawyers who need to complete some Australian subjects in order to qualify for admission to legal practice in Australia.

This course does not lead to professional accreditation, though students can transfer to the Bachelor of Laws degree, which is accredited with the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board of the Northern Territory, with full credit for units completed.

Course Structure
One core unit and a minimum of seven units selected from a range of elective units.

Accreditation
This course is accredited by the University in accordance with the Higher Education Standards.

Australian Quality Framework (AQF)
This course is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework at Level 5.

Applicants must have completed international qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12.

IELTS Academic Module - A minimum overall score of 5.5 with no band less than 5.0; Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) - A minimum overall score of 165; Navitas Academic English - An overall pass and 60% in Academic English 2;

Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic module - A minimum overall score of 42 with no less than 36 in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking;

TOEFL Internet based Test (iBT) - A minimum overall score of 46 with a minimum writing score of 21.
