Founded in 1967, Sheridan has grown from a local college of 400 students to one of Ontario’s leading postsecondary institutions, educating approximately 24,500 full-time and 18,500 continuing and part-time studies students every year on three campuses in three Ontario cities Oakville, Brampton and Mississauga.
An award-winning institution, Sheridan attracts students from across Canada and around the world. Sheridan’s 175,000 alumni play a critical role in shaping the future of its society in the fields of arts, business, community service, health, technology, and the skilled trades. The college offers more than 120 programs across five faculties, including 25 degree programs.
Being located across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) means Sheridan students get unlimited access to Canada’s biggest urban playground, cultural capital and business centre. Davis Campus is home to our applied health, community services, engineering and technology programs. In 2017, it officially opened its new Skilled Trades Centre, a new home for our skilled trades and apprenticeship programs.
Bright and welcoming, our Hazel McCallion Campus (HMC) is home to the Pilon School of Business. Built to LEED gold standards, this campus is tucked right in the heart of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada's sixth-largest city.
Located in the picturesque, lakeside town of Oakville, Trafalgar Road Campus is home to Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design. A number of programs in science and technology and health and community studies are also located at Trafalgar.

Sheridan’s Centre for Teaching and Learning is a hub for a wide range of activities supporting academic excellence and a great student experience. We help create new programs and enhance existing ones; we facilitate the quality assurance process for all programs and the innovative use of technology in teaching; and we provide support to all faculty, new or veteran, in enhancing their teaching. All this is done within the context of balancing Ministry and professional requirements with support for innovative approaches that meet evolving student needs. The Academic Plan goals and actions described in the following pages reflect our collaborative focus on supporting the college community in meeting these evolving needs. For example, recognizing the diversity of our students, one target is to find ways to broaden the inclusivity of our learning environments both from a curriculum perspective and through support for faculty in developing their own teaching practice. Another is looking for ways to invite the student voice into our planning and then incorporate what we learn into college practice. We are leading the development of a program of teaching research and developing awards that provide meaningful recognition of faculty excellence. And we focus on improving the evidence on which decisions are made around curriculum, program changes, teaching practice and student support. In all, the plans provide an inspirational energy to our dedicated team who, like our students, are learning every day
The student-faculty ratio is 16-to-1.
