University of Bolton, Greater Manchester, England, is a public university. It began as Bolton Mechanics Institute in 1825 and became a university in 2004.

In the Complete University Guide's 2020 League Table, it ranked 128 out of 131 institutions in UK

With 11000 students studying in relative small size in a relatively state-of-the art facility, the university has a long history of providing vocational and traditional degrees alongside access, foundations or postgraduate options.

86% of students are in work or further study six months after graduating.

Campus 

The university is located mainly on an urban campus between Bolton's Deane Road and Derby Street. There are two residential halls on the campus. Besides that, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE has an educational centre.

Location Specialities 

Bolton is one of the most vibrant cities in the UK and is at the center of it at the University of Bolton campus. A short walk from the campus is the beautiful city hall, gallery, and museum, as well as the famous Octagon Theatre and the Albert Halls Bolton venue. Bolton also has one of Britain's oldest pubs

There are excellent travel links to towns like Liverpool and Leeds, and Manchester is only 20 minutes away by train. Easily reachable are Lake District, Western Pennine Moors, and Yorkshire Dales. Blackpool's light is only an hour's drive away.

Bolton town offers a lower cost of living than many UK towns and cities.

  • First year undergraduate students are guaranteed a place provided that they submit their application for accommodation within the time limit specified on the university's website.
  • There is only one campus residence – the Orlando Village housing 381 single-storey self-catering bedrooms.
  • It's a 10-minute walk from our campus, close to both bus and rail links.
