For a Ph.D., candidates may select a maximum of two specialisations.

The "Harvard Steps," the institution's entryway, is recognised for its picturesque setting and elegant architecture. The Louis Kahn Plaza is a place that bears the name of the architect who transformed the IIMA campus into the aesthetically pleasing place it is now in 1974. Another open area and auditorium constructed with Kahn's singular and impressive architectural eye is RJMCEI Auditorium Plaza. The Vikram Sarabhai Library, which bears the name of the institution's founder, is renowned for its outstanding architecture. The four-story library's first floor serves as the primary reading area. Within a huge room on the second floor are a conference room and a reading room. The fourth floor expands the library of books and journals that are in the third floor's ownership. The hexagonal classrooms are an architectural surprise and were created as seminar halls to improve interaction between the students and the mentors. The dorms consist of two living quarters connected by a triangular lobby that allows for plenty of light and airflow. The restrooms and stairs are also built so that they won't block the lobby's or rooms' airflow.
