College Info

The University of Lethbridge, an open research institution founded in 1967, is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Canada University Press, Canada West, U Sports, and the International Association of Universities. The institution places a strong emphasis on inter-disciplinary research, experiential learning, and liberal education. In 2017, it created a liberal arts college. The university has experienced remarkable growth over time. Since the school's founding, the number of pupils has significantly expanded. Let there be light, the university's slogan, refers to lighting that results from both study and education.

The institute's campus occupies a space of 460 acres. It offers all of the amenities needed by students. The renowned architect Arthur Erickson created and erected the University Hall. The facility has a library, a sports and wellness centre, a building for environmental science, a community stadium, and a centre for behavioural neuroscience. Over 100 faculty members who conduct research in the fields of chemistry, biology, astronomy, physics, neurology, and psychology work at the university.

The university also operates a satellite campus in Calgary that provides degree programmes in management and health sciences through weekend and evening classes. There are numerous renowned research centres and institutes on the university campus. The university has constructed a brand-new science and academic facility on the property, which is regarded as one of Canada's most cutting-edge facilities.

Both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes are available through the university. The university has 9,000 students enrolled in it. The academic organisation is divided into four faculties and three schools, including the faculties of education, arts & sciences, fine arts, and health science, as well as the schools of graduate studies, liberal arts education, and business. Additionally, pre-professional courses in law, journalism, dentistry, nutrition, medicine, veterinary medicine, social work, and optometry are offered by the Faculty of Arts & Science. The students are mentored by knowledgeable faculty members. They receive a wealth of information. Students are also taken to businesses by the professors. The university is renowned for having one of Canada's largest collections in its art gallery. The institution made the decision to create a second Art Gallery building because of its extensive holdings.
