Established in 1916, SAIT in Calgary, Canada is a global leader in applied education and offers over 100 career programs, 1,300 continuing education courses and corporate training courses to more than 200 companies annually. SAIT students study within eight academic schools — Business, Construction, Energy, Health and Public Safety, Hospitality and Tourism, Information and Communications Technologies, Manufacturing and Automation and Transportation. Hands-on learning in unique labs and classrooms, solution-focused research and enterprising collaborations with industry partners ensure SAIT students are career-ready when they graduate.

SAIT’s campuses are full of spaces to study and focus. Choose from comfortable informal seating, moveable tables, areas with white boards, computer areas or traditional study desks. There are 23 dining options, ranging from fast food to sit down meals. Students can satisfy their taste buds with pizza and sushi or experience The Highwood, SAIT’s acclaimed fine dining restaurant.

The SAIT Students’ Association (SAITSA) supports more than 80 student clubs while providing employment opportunities at SAITSA-run businesses. SAITSA also actively promotes mental health and personal well-being initiatives. Intramurals provide the opportunity to balance school and work with recreation activities on campus. SAIT Trojans are student athletes who showcase competition, courage, determination and spirit in basketball, volleyball, ice hockey, soccer, futsal, running and golf in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.

SAIT Campus

SAIT's main campus is located on 16 Avenue NW, overlooking the downtown core of Calgary and is served by the CTrain light rail system. SAIT has three other campuses located in Calgary:

• Mayland Heights – Located on Centre Avenue, this facility supports students pursuing a career in auto body, crane and hoisting, recreation vehicle servicing, electrical, plumbing and rail.
• Culinary Campus – Located on Stephen Avenue, it provides baking basics and cooking fundamentals. The Culinary Campus also acts as a marketplace, selling food to the general public.
• Art Smith Aero Centre – Occupying 17 acres of land at the Calgary International Airport, this campus supports the School of Transportation.

Financial Aids for the students

• SAIT Polytechnic helps the students of Canada through the Student Loan. To enable this loan, the student should be a resident of Canada or a citizen of Canada.
• The Student Loan can be provided under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. If the student is a resident, then the aid is in the form of a Student loan.

SAIT Admission requirements and process

Admission at SAIT Polytechnic requires additional documents from international applicants. Application requirements for various programs are given below.

Selection CriteriaSAIT Polytechnic opens the admissions in the Fall Start and continues until the Spring start. Different programs have different time periods for their admission process.

• The application fee charged is 75.00 CAD once for each program enrolment.
• Percentage required in schools and the other major requirements are different for all courses:
  • A 65% record or a cumulative GPA of minimum 2.3 is required for the Bachelor’s of business administration.
  • Other courses require a minimum of 50%.
  • A common requirement in all the courses is the English proficiency.
  • Admission into the Institute is determined on the academic records.
  • Graduate employment rate in the institute is 94%

Criteria of selection are not the same for different courses and to meet up to the suitability of the program the students may need to give supplementary documentation or additional information to be submitted. This includes:-
