Red River College of Applied Arts, Science, and Technology is one of the oldest educational institutions, having been established in 1938. When it comes to practical learning and applied research, this institution is regarded as being the biggest in the province of Manitoba. With an average annual student population of more than 21,000, it offers more than 200 degree, diploma, and certificate programmes through both traditional and remote learning channels. It is Canada's public university with the quickest rate of growth.

In addition to Winnipeg, Selkirk, Steinbach, Portage la Prairie, Southport, Peguis, and Winkler, Red River College also maintains campuses there. The two largest campuses are located in Winnipeg's Exchange District and Notre Dame.   • With a focus on applied research, entrepreneurship, and social innovation, Red River College's new Innovation Centre will be a centre for innovation and cooperation.
  • RRC continued to increase its efforts in applied research and education by awarding CAD $300,000 in research grants.
  • Western Economic Diversification Canada invested CAD 10 million towards RRC's new Smart Factory and Centre for Aerospace Technology and Training.
  • Buses and other highway vehicles can be tested in the New Motive Lab, a climatic chamber with an integrated chassis dynamometer facility.
  • Research and development in the culinary industry will grow and produce new goods like hemp macaroons and miso paste derived from beer-brewing waste.
  • In collaboration with the World Bank and Aga Khan University, the Science of Early Child Development Resource provides early childhood educators with training in Canada and around the globe.
