Nipissing University Highlights

College Info

Nipissing University was established in 1967 as a Laurentian University associate. It is located in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, and is well-known for its small class sizes, creative and helpful staff, and extensive chances for student study. The college began operating independently in 1992 and began awarding baccalaureate degrees to its students. The Ontario government enacted a measure in 2001 to update the university's charter and allow it to award graduate degrees. The Faculty of Education at Nipissing College was created by incorporating the North Bay Teachers' College.

The excellence of Nipissing University's programmes in the arts, sciences, and teacher preparation are highly known. The atmosphere is student-centered, with a focus on individualised teaching strategies and creative teaching methods. It has had a favourable effect on the students' social, cultural, and economic lives. Students acquire academic knowledge as well as social and professional skills. Students are given the opportunity to develop their independent thought and problem-solving abilities through the educational system.

The university provides undergraduate programmes in a variety of subjects, including economics, the visual arts, biology, anthropology, and classical studies. The institution provides professional programmes in social work, nursing, business, and criminal justice. The university provides postgraduate programmes such the MA in History, MA in Sociology, MEd, MA in Education, MA in Kinesiology, MA in Mathematics, and PhD in Education. The graduate school is open from September to December for the Fall term, from January to April for the Winter term, and from May to August for the Spring/Summer term (i.e. May to August). The Winter term comes before the Fall term, which marks the beginning of the academic year.

Students can obtain both a bachelor's degree and a college diploma from Canadore College in four years thanks to a few university cooperation programmes in environmental biology and technology, criminology and criminal justice (policing stream), and social welfare and social development. Julio Viskovich earned the Dr. James Jamleieson Influential Alumni Award, Alicia Gal won the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, and Alysha Young won the Rising Star Alumni Award, to name a few.

Funding is offered to graduate students from both internal and external sources. The scholarship's worth varies. There are many organisations that offer financial aid to students. Both the 4-year and 3-year bachelor's degrees in commerce are offered by Nipissing University as distant learning courses. The live-streamed online classes are offered Monday through Friday from 6 PM to 9 PM.
