Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology Highlights

College Info

The Winnipeg Technical College was formerly known as the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology, which became official on June 12, 2014. In order to fill the need for specialised and useful career training in the neighbourhood, the South Winnipeg Technical Vocational Centre was created. Later, it was known as the South Winnipeg Technical Centre (SWTC), and the federal and provincial governments provided funding for the institution's growth totaling about $8 million.

The center's name was once more changed to Winnipeg Technical College in April of 1999. (WTC). The governing board of South Winnipeg Technical Centre had met with representatives from three school divisions and decided to change the name of the institution as well as add a new campus. In those days, WTC had three modern facilities where it provided training in business and information technology, health care and human services, and skilled trades and technology.

The Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology has a large number of campuses. 130 Henlow Bay is where you'll find the main campus. It is next to another campus, which is located at 7 Fultz Boulevard. Carpentry, graphic and print technology, and electrical training are all offered at this site. Six adult learning facilities are located at the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology. They are the United Food and Commercial Workers Center, CrossRoads Learning Center, Horizons Learning Center, Portage Learning and Literacy Center, St. Norbert Adult Education Center, and St. Vital Adult Learning Centre.
