Acadia University, a renowned liberal arts college in Nova Scotia, Canada, was founded in 1838. The university was an expansion of a Horton-based institution that was founded as Horton Academy in 1828. The institution's name has undergone numerous changes over the years, including Queen's College in 1838 and Acadia College in 1841. With 21 students and two staff members, the college opened its doors in 1839. It took on its current name in 1891. It is associated with both the International Association of Universities and the Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate (CUSID) (IAU).
The university's 250-acre campus, which is located in Wolfville's Annapolis Valley, is home to top-notch academic, administrative, recreational, and housing facilities. Theology, Pure and Applied Science, Arts, and Professional Studies make up the four faculties that make up Acadia University's academic organisation. Each faculty is further divided into a number of schools and departments that are each focused on a particular area of teaching or research. 200 programmes in business, education, music, engineering, applied sciences, history, theology, gender studies, theatre, and economics are available.
