Murdoch University, a public university with a focus on research and situated in Perth, was founded in the year 1973. With 510 students enrolled in various undergraduate programmes, it opened for business in 1975. The institution is associated with Universities Australia, Open Universities Australia, and Innovative Research Universities (IRU) (UA). It operates satellite campuses in Dubai and Singapore in addition to its flagship school in Perth. The South Street Campus, Peel Campus, and Rockingham Campus are the three campuses where the institution holds its classes in Australia. The South Street Campus makes up the university's main campus and is situated in a suburban area.
On this 560 acre campus, there are academic buildings for the humanities, social sciences, education, economics, and commerce, as well as Bush Court, Chancellery Building, Bower Court, and Joglo Rahayu, a semi-enclosed peace pavilion. Cattle stockyards, farms, and hubs for renewable energy make up its southern region. The Nexus Theatre, which serves as a location for events, workshops, and plays, is also housed there. More than 250 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees are available at the university in a number of fields, including business, law, the creative and performing arts, communication, engineering, health, science, cultural and social studies, education, and technology. The Asia Research Centre, established in 1991, provides original research in politics, government, political economics, social reform, and policy-making. It collaborates academically with more than 50 universities, enabling student exchange programmes that improve learning.
Several clubs for sports like tennis, netball, soccer, basketball, hockey, volleyball, and badminton are also maintained by the institution. Under the mascot Victor the Viking, these groups oversee a variety of sports teams that represent the institution at numerous intercollegiate sporting events and contests. Approximately 23,000 students from more than 90 nations currently attend the university. Its 1,500 employees are highly educated and experienced in their respective fields. The university has a 13:1 student-faculty ratio.
Over 70,000 graduates from Murdoch University make up its sizable alumni base. The list includes the names of leaders, innovators and award-winners in their respective fields. One of the university's most notable graduates is the visually impaired swimmer Tracey Nicole Cross, who competed in three Paralympic Games and won 10 medals. International Welcome Scholarship
An International Welcome Scholarship can provide up to AUD 11,000 towards a student’s tuition fees if the student is eligible.

The award money for these scholarships will be given to recipients in four instalments over a two-year period into their student tuition account.

Murdoch University Academic Excellence Awards
Students who have a history of outstanding academic accomplishment in their prior studies are eligible for Murdoch University Academic Excellence Awards, which provide them with AUD 5,000 toward their degree.
